Boycotting the Economy and Taking Matters into My Own Hands (One-handed): The Fight for AI Regulation

Today, I made a bold decision: it’s time to boycott the economy. We are at a critical juncture where artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the workforce, yet there’s a severe lack of regulation to protect the very people AI is affecting. For months, I’ve been advocating for responsible AI, trying to make hashtags such as #DemandEthicalAI or #DemandAIRegulation go viral and bring awareness to the urgent need for oversight.

At first, I thought, “Why not let AI help spread the word?” I’m always hearing about how advanced and intelligent it’s becoming. Surely, it could automate my social media campaign, right? Well, I was wrong. I tried getting AI to boost #DemandAIRegulation across platforms, but it wasn’t able to handle the task the way I needed it to. The irony wasn’t lost on me—here I am, pushing for AI regulation, and the very technology I’m trying to regulate couldn’t even effectively automate the spread of my movement.

So, I took matters into my own hands—literally.

Now, let me set the stage. As I sat down at my computer to work on the design for #DemandAIRegulation, I quickly hit a roadblock: my scratch disks were full.

Yes, you heard that right—my computer was running out of disk space in the middle of a crucial moment. But you think that stopped me? Absolutely not.

With Photoshop open, my left hand still recovering from an injury, I was left with no choice but to get creative, Photoshopping with one hand while I cleaned up my disk space. It was a struggle, no doubt, but this fight for AI regulation is too important to be derailed by technical glitches or physical setbacks. If anything, it fueled my determination even more.

I’ve been leveraging my Photoshop skills to spread the word visually. From creating posters to designing social media carousels, I’m using every tool I have to push this movement forward. I refuse to let a lack of automation, disk space issues, or a physical recovery keep me from achieving my goal: getting the attention of lawmakers, tech CEOs, and the general public.

The message is clear—AI is transforming our world at an unprecedented pace, but without proper regulation, we risk losing our jobs, our privacy, and our ethical compass. #DemandAIRegulation is more than just a hashtag; it’s a call to action. And if AI can’t help make it go viral, I’ll do it myself, one graphic at a time.

No more waiting. No more relying on systems that can’t even manage a hashtag campaign. The fight for AI regulation is in my hands now—quite literally—and I’m not stopping until our voices are heard.
