After receiving an official letter from the President of the United States, Joe Biden, I was encouraged by the administration’s focused commitment to responsible AI governance. President Biden emphasized the importance of transparency, fairness, and global cooperation in shaping the future of AI, and his words reaffirm the proactive steps taken by the Biden-Harris administration to ensure that AI technology benefits all Americans while safeguarding our rights and values.

The Biden-Harris Track Record on AI Governance

Kamala Harris has been at the forefront of the Biden-Harris administration’s initiatives to ensure responsible AI governance. The introduction of the AI Bill of Rights was a major step toward protecting Americans from the potential risks of AI, including bias, privacy violations, and exploitation. However, another key policy initiative has been the Artificial Intelligence Accountability Act of 2024, which takes a comprehensive approach to preparing workers for the AI-driven economy.

Though still in the introduced stage in Congress, the Artificial Intelligence Accountability Act offers a thorough response to the challenges that AI presents to the workforce. The act pushes for programs that emphasize upskilling and reskilling, ensuring that workers can stay competitive as industries are transformed by AI and automation. Kamala Harris has been a strong advocate for these initiatives, understanding that preparing workers for the future is crucial as companies continue to streamline their operations at an unprecedented rate.

In the third episode of my podcast “AI Podcast Therapy” titled “Facing the AI Anxiety: Compartmentalizing Fear and Seeking Solutions” which you can listen to on Apple Podcasts here or on Spotify here, I openly discussed my belief that the U.S. should leverage the renewable energy sector as a major focus to engage workers from displaced fields. The U.S., as the second-largest greenhouse gas emitter globally, has a significant opportunity to use AI not only for economic growth but also to combat climate change. Shifting displaced workers into the clean energy sector can address two urgent issues simultaneously: job displacement due to AI and the fight against climate change. These are areas where the U.S. can lead the world, and a Harris-Walz administration is uniquely positioned to push these critical efforts forward.

A Commitment to Workforce Protection in the Age of AI

Kamala Harris recognizes that AI will reshape the workforce. Her commitment to promoting worker rights and ensuring that upskilling and reskilling programs are expanded will be crucial in the next phase of AI development. We’ve already seen that the Artificial Intelligence Accountability Act has started to address the risks posed by automation, but under Harris' leadership, I believe this effort will only grow stronger, offering opportunities for displaced workers to transition into high-growth sectors like renewable energy.

This focus on the future of work aligns closely with my own advocacy through the Voice for Change Foundation, where we have emphasized the need for ethical AI to protect jobs and promote fairness. A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for these values, ensuring that AI development does not leave workers behind but rather helps them thrive in a modern economy.

Why Kamala Harris is the Right Choice

The 2024 election is more than just a vote on the next four years—it’s a vote on America’s future with AI, the climate, and workers' rights on the line. Kamala Harris has shown a commitment to responsible AI governance, global cooperation, and the protection of American workers in an economy being reshaped by technology.

A vote for Kamala Harris is a vote for continued responsible AI governance, stronger worker protections, and a future where AI supports economic growth and the fight against climate change. It is a vote to ensure that the U.S. leads the world in ethical AI development while protecting the rights and well-being of its workers. Join me in supporting Kamala Harris for a future where AI serves the interests of all, and where the American workforce is equipped to thrive in the digital age.
