I lost my employment in November of last year, and after submitting hundreds of resumes, I received very few responses. Despite my best efforts, I struggled to secure even a first interview, as many companies are overly reliant on Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) that often block resumes. This left me wondering if there was a support group out there for people impacted by AI and technology, or if there was a place online where I could engage in an open dialogue about my concerns and feelings. This community, the AI Displacement Support Network, stems from that need – to provide a safe space for individuals to share their stories and find support.

I remember looking for videos on YouTube or social media posts about people struggling with job loss due to automation or being unable to re-enter the job market because of AI. I couldn't find any. Realizing there was a gap, I wanted to gather people together to go through these difficult times, so we can all help each other out. This initiative comes from a personal place of needing support and wanting to offer the same to others who are facing similar challenges.

I must not be the only one sharing my struggles during this AI transition era. Knowing that an average of 2,100 people lost their jobs in April 2024 alone due to AI, it makes you wonder if content on this issue is being censored by major American social media companies to control the narrative. This community aims to break that silence and provide a platform for open dialogue and mutual support.
