Censored by TikTok for Advocating Against AI-Driven Unemployment Crisis

In recent times, I have been actively using social media platforms to raise awareness about a looming crisis that could affect millions of Americans—the unchecked implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation leading to workforce displacement. Despite the importance of this issue, my attempts to voice these concerns on TikTok have been met with repeated censorship. Below, I detail my experience and the urgent need for action.

The “Incident”

This morning, I attempted to post a video, seen at the bottom of this post, on TikTok for the third time titled "Urgent Call to the White House: Addressing the AI-Driven Unemployment Crisis." In this video, which was a recorded call made to the White House, I discussed the imminent threat posed by AI and automation to millions of American jobs and called for immediate government intervention. However, within minutes, the video was flagged and removed for “violating community guidelines”. This wasn't an isolated incident; my account has faced multiple such violations, all while addressing critical societal issues.

How so? Getting tired of being censored right and left.

Speaking Up for Millions

The screenshots above provide a glimpse into the content that was censored. My videos, including one titled "AI: When Art Imitates Life" and another questioning whether customer service interactions are handled by AI bots, aim to spark conversation and action on these pressing issues. Unfortunately, TikTok, owned by ByteDance Ltd., appears to be stifling these essential discussions.

The Broader Impact

Censorship on platforms like TikTok is not just about silencing an individual—it's about suppressing the voice of millions who are or will be affected by the rapid advancements in AI and automation. The workforce displacement crisis is real and imminent, and it requires a concerted effort from policymakers, businesses, and the public to address.

A Call to Action

I have taken to other platforms like X/Twitter to reach out directly to President Joe Biden. Here is my recent tweet to the President of The United States of America:

Being censored for speaking up in regards to millions of Americans facing a workforce displacement crisis due to the unchecked implementation of artificial intelligence and automation is getting old. @POTUS, do something. Vimeo Link

Why This Matters

The unchecked implementation of AI and automation can lead to significant job losses, widening economic disparity, and societal upheaval. We must advocate for ethical AI, robust retraining programs, and policies that ensure technological advancements benefit all members of society, not just a privileged few.
